An Easy Spa Experience at Home

Have you ever dreamed of soaking in a steamy jacuzzi under the night stars in your quiet garden, sipping on your favorite refreshment? Sounds wonderful, right?

I had that dream when we started shopping for our first home in Los Angeles 3 years ago.  Houses in Los Angeles are expensive, and a house with a jacuzzi was not in our budget. I mean, we had a hard enough time finding a place with a yard that could even fit a jacuzzi.

So, it didn’t take us long to accept that maybe this dream home spa experience was more of a long-term investment. And, we focused on just getting a house that we could build on and create our dream spaces over time. But I held on to the image of us someday enjoying the bubbling paradise from the comfort of our own back yard.

And this year, the dream was realized, for a less than a tenth of the cost I  estimated.

Why want a jacuzzi?

Why do I want a hot tub at home? There are so many benefits of having a home spa. Here are a few reasons:

It’s relaxing!

With the busyness of our days, relaxation-on-demand comes in handy. The jacuzzi, for me, is so relaxing. And when I soak in that hot tub, I’m lulled by its jets.  I am overall calmer and more relaxed.

Pain relief & blood flow

Our joints and muscles need a little more attention as we continue to use them. A few minutes in the hot tub relieves the aches in our aged bodies and the blood just seems to flow better!  Blood circulation is life!

Smooth & clear skin

The steam from the hot tub water opens up pores and primes the grime lurking under the skin’s surface for a release. The result is a brighter face!  After the soaking softens the old dead skin cells, the oldies can be sloughed right on off, leaving smooth and shiny new skin on display!

Warmth

For a thin-blooded being like me, the heat is always a bonus. I hate being cold, and staying warm is a must! On the occasion that it is cold in Los Angeles, a good hot soak helps me cope. (It's been pretty cold here, lately!)

I found one in my budget!

During one of my online shopping experiences, I found this thing - the Coleman SaluSpa Inflatable Hot Tub and I had to buy it! It was relatively inexpensive, easy to install, and portable. My prayers had been answered and my dream could come to life!

How much?

Let’s talk about the price. I paid $499 plus tax on Amazon (in 2021), with no shipping cost. After visiting spa stores, I learned that an outdoor hot tub could cost anywhere from $4K to $35K - before having it installed. And, it could cost another another $2K-10k to properly install a small one at my house.  I’m sure you’ve done the math -  $499 is a steal!

Easy to install

Most jacuzzi installations could require hiring an electrician to install higher voltage outlets, digging a large hole in the ground, securing permits and complying with local building & safety codes, installation of new water lines, and an undesirable amount of time.

But, once I got my hot tub, it was so easy to install. As long as you have a flat surface, a water connection, and a standard 110V connection - you can install it yourself in minutes. Watch this time-lapse video of my installation:

I can take it anywhere!

Because this tub is inflatable, the size and weight was perfect for my needs! It’s about 6 feet diameter, so I can fit it in multiple places in my yard - the patio, the driveway, my little she-nook.

And, when I need more space, I can deflate it and pack it away in my nifty outdoor storage box or shed, without any extra help. Also, if we ever decide to move, we can pack this puppy up and take it with us anywhere!

You have more options!

So, if you are like me and dream of the spa serenity at home with a hot tub, you have options! If you’re in a position to shell out $20K or more for a stylish permanent fixture of a spa-tub at your home - do it!! They have some super options out there. But, you don’t have to go without because don’t have that type of budget or you don’t own a space suitable for installing a permanent jacuzzi.

You can purchase something like the Coleman SaluSpa Inflatable Hot Tub or consider other options. In my shopping, I found a few more portable, and relatively inexpensive options for you:
